Q. How long does a grooming session take?
A: If you are opting for a full grooming session, then it should take us about 3 hours. However, the timing also depends on the size, breed and coat condition of the dog. If we are dealing with a nervous dog, then it takes as much time as they need.
Q. I have a nervous dog who cannot tolerate aspects of the grooming procedure. Would I be able to stay with him to keep him calm?
A. When you bring your pet to us, we also ensure that if your dog visits our salon for the first time, we introduce them to the procedure in a slow and calm manner. Usually, pets calm down quickly when their owner is not around.
Q. Do you muzzle the dog?
A. We do not encourage the idea of muzzling the dog as it may increase their anxiety. Instead, we build the dogs' confidence and trust, so they do not feel unsafe or scared.
Q. My dog may be in season, can she still be groomed?
A. Yes, she can. The dogs that come to our salon do not interact with one another so it is absolutely safe to bring your dog even when she is in season.
Q. Do you use cages?
Yes, as this is the safest place for dogs waiting to start their grooming session or waiting for their owner to collect them. We follow this process in compliance with The Pet Care Trust animal welfare regulations. Our appointment system, however, means that we are ready to start the grooming session when the dog arrives, and you are given time to return or will receive a courtesy call to say when your dog will be ready, so you arrive to collect your dog just as he finishes his session.
